Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information DiceData ("DiceData", "we", "our", or "us"), a service of Steady State Solutions, LLC, collects when you use dicedata.info and the services on it, what we do with it, who else handles it, and what control you have over it. By using the service, you agree to what is described here.

DiceData is a simulation and analysis platform. We simulate casino betting systems and report what happens. No real-money gambling takes place on this site, and we never handle wagers.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

Account information. Your email address, and a name if you choose to give one. If you sign in with Google or Facebook instead of a password, that provider passes us your email address and basic profile information. Passwords are held by our authentication provider in hashed form and are never visible to us.
Studio content. The strategy descriptions and messages you write in the studio, the strategy code produced from them, and the results of the simulations you run.
Requests and orders. Everything you enter on our contact, submit, and services request forms, including the system details you describe there.
Communications. Messages you send us by email or through a form.

Payment information

Payments and subscriptions are handled entirely by Stripe. DiceData does not store, process, or have access to your card number, bank details, or any other financial account information. We receive only what we need to know which plan you are on and whether it is paid. You can review Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle it.

Information collected automatically

Usage data. Which pages and features you use, how long sessions last, which model choice you make in the studio, how much of your AI allowance and how many simulation runs you have used, and your top-up balance.
Device and network data. Device type, operating system, browser, screen size, IP address, and the approximate location (city or region level) that an IP address implies.
Performance data. Error reports and diagnostic logs, so we can find and fix what breaks.

Data stored on your device

The studio and the replay player keep some things in your browser's local storage: drafts, display preferences, and session state, so a reload does not lose your place. That data stays on your device, is not readable by other sites, and is cleared whenever you clear your browser data.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies in three categories:

Essential cookies. Required for signing in, keeping you signed in, and security. These cannot be turned off without breaking the service.
Analytics cookies. Used by Google Analytics and PostHog so we can see which features get used, where people get stuck, and what errors occur.
Advertising cookies. Used by the Reddit pixel to measure whether our ads on Reddit work: which visits, signups, and purchases came from an ad. See "We do not sell your personal information" below for what Reddit receives.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.

How We Use Your Information

To run the service: your account, the studio, simulations, and your saved strategies.
To take payment, manage subscriptions and top-ups, and keep the required records.
To answer your questions and respond to support requests and orders.
To find and fix errors, and to understand which features are worth building on.
To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
To send you service messages, and, if you asked for them, occasional emails about new work. You can unsubscribe from those at any time.
To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

AI Processing

The studio builds strategies using AI. When you send a message, we pass that message, the rest of that conversation, and the strategy code in your workspace to a third-party AI provider, which returns the response you see. We currently use two providers, Anthropic and DeepSeek. Which one handles a given message depends on the model you select in the composer, and the set of providers and models will change over time as better ones become available.

Not all of these providers operate in the United States. Some process and store data outside it, including in China. Once a message reaches a provider, their retention and use of it is governed by their own terms rather than this policy.

We do not send your email address, name, or payment information to any AI provider. Please treat the studio the way you would treat any cloud service: do not paste anything into it that you would not want processed outside the United States.

Who Else Handles Your Information

We share information with the providers below, each only to the extent they need it to do their part. We do not give any of them permission to use your information for their own purposes.

Amazon Web Services (United States): hosting, databases, sign-in, and email delivery.
Stripe (United States): payments, subscriptions, and invoices.
Anthropic (United States) and DeepSeek: AI responses in the studio, as described above.
Google Analytics and PostHog (United States): site and product analytics.
Reddit (United States): advertising measurement, as described in "We do not sell your personal information" below.
Mailchimp (United States): our email list. Sending a contact or request form adds your email address to it, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Who can see your studio conversations

Your conversations are visible to you in your workspace. We can also read them through our internal admin tools, which we use to answer support questions, investigate errors and abuse, and improve the studio. We do not share them with anyone outside DiceData except the AI providers described above.

We do not sell your personal information

DiceData does not sell your personal information. We do not trade your data for money or for anything else of value.

We do share limited information with Reddit so we can tell whether our ads there work: the pages you visit here, basic device information, and, for signed-in members, your email address in hashed form. California law counts this kind of advertising measurement as "sharing." It is the only sharing of that kind we do, and it never includes your studio content, strategies, or payment details. You can limit it today by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, and Reddit describes its own handling in its privacy policy.

Other situations where we may share

Connected services. If you choose to connect DiceData to another service, we share what that connection requires and nothing more.
Legal requirements. When we are required to comply with the law or a lawful request from a public authority, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of DiceData, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If DiceData is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent. Any other sharing, only if you ask us to or agree to it.

How Long We Keep It

Account and studio content. Kept for as long as your account exists, so your conversations and strategies are there when you come back. They go when you delete your account.
Operational data. Queued simulation jobs, cached results, and in-app notices are working data and clear themselves on short automatic schedules.
Server logs. Kept up to two years for security and debugging. They never contain your strategy code or your credentials.
Payment records. Held by Stripe under their retention policy, and by us for roughly seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations.
Email and support messages. Kept in our inbox and our email list until you ask us to remove them.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account and the data attached to it at any time by signing in and using the Delete Account option on your account page. Requests are completed within 3 days, and you can cancel a pending request from the same page at any point before it is carried out. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first so no further charges are made.

Deleting your account removes your email address, name, sign-in, studio conversations, and saved strategies. Two things survive it. Payment and subscription records are kept for tax and accounting, with your identifying information removed so they are no longer tied to you as a person. And any message already sent to an AI provider sits in that provider's systems under their retention policy, which we cannot reach. Anything remaining in backups ages out on the normal backup schedule.

Your Rights and Choices

Wherever you live, you can:

See and correct your account information from your account page.
Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Delete your account and its data, as described above.
Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message we send.
Clear locally stored data by clearing your browser data.
Control cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. To make any request, email hello@dicedata.info and we will handle it. We may need to verify who you are before acting on a request, and we may need to keep certain information where the law requires it.

Where Your Information Is Processed

DiceData operates from the United States, and our servers and most of our providers are in the United States. Some processing, in particular AI processing in the studio, happens outside the United States, in countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. By using the service you agree to that processing.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, passwords that are hashed by our authentication provider and never visible to us, restricted internal access to production systems and admin tools, and monitoring for unauthorized access.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your own sign-in details confidential and for activity under your account.

Children's Privacy

DiceData is not designed for, directed at, or intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us at hello@dicedata.info so we can act on it.

Links to Other Websites

The service links to sites we do not operate. If you follow one, you are subject to that site's privacy policy, and we have no control over and take no responsibility for their content or practices. We recommend reading the policy of any site you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes or the law requires. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will also give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
